"Movement, Meditation, and Memoir" is a transformative workshop led by Michelle Fleming and Bridget LeRoy that combines gentle movements, mindfulness practices, and reflective writing to help participants tap into their inner selves and foster personal growth. 
 
Through the synergistic combination of movement, meditation, and memoir, participants can expect to experience a profound transformation in their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This holistic approach aims to inspire self-discovery, enhance creativity, and promote a sense of inner peace and balance.

Focus for the Week

Participants will engage in various somatic exercises that encourage balancing the central nervous system and nourishing creativity, while opening the way to inspiration through meditations that connect mind, body, and spirit.  Additionally, participants will be guided through writing exercises focused on exploring personal narratives. By incorporating writing prompts and reflective journaling, individuals will have the opportunity to process their experiences, gain insights, and foster a deeper understanding of themselves while having a good time in a safe and supportive environment.

  • Nature Immersion: Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this beach, where the Turtle Hatchery releases baby turtles to make their trip to the ocean. Just a short walk south, explore otherworldly rock formations and hunt for seashells in the tidepools between the boulders.

Meet The Instructors

Bridget LeRoy

An alta masaiok of the Jaguar Path shaman lineage, and recipient of a 500-hour Ayurvedic Yoga certification from Kripalu, Bridget LeRoy leads retreats and workshops, energy clearing ceremonies, and provides private coaching/energy work.

Bridget co-founded The East Hampton Independent in 1993, and functioned in various years as the arts editor and managing editor. During her tenure, she was honored with 50+ regional and national awards for journalism and editing. She has interviewed everyone from Steven Spielberg to Martha Stewart, from the Clintons to Julie Andrews, Linda Ronstadt to Jane Fonda.

No newcomer to radio, Bridget has hosted several programs, including "Culture Queen" on WNTK Talk Radio in New Hampshire, and Authors Night 2018-2021 for 88.3 WLIW-FM, interviewing Alec Baldwin, Candace Bushnell, Robert Caro, Lee Child, and other literati.

She co-hosted "Sundays on the East End" with Oscar-nominated screenwriter Alec Sokolow on NPR, and “AirHamptons with Bridget & Bill” as well.

Bridget also co-founded CMEE, the Children's Museum of the East End. She bought, renovated, and ran the New London Inn from 2004 to 2010, and created the "Gnus of Gnu London" community art project, which raised money for an arts center in New Hampshire.  

Bridget is currently editor-at-large and co-publisher of James Lane Post, a monthly Hamptons arts and culture newspaper. She has a podcast, “Crazy Connected,” and a book of the same name coming out in 2026.

Other hats she's worn along the way: goatherd, ordained minister, pug breeder, and nude model for some of the world's greatest living artists.

Michelle Fleming

Michelle is a Yoga Therapist, a Thai Bodyworker, a Nerve and Artery specialist and a Board Certified Structural Integrator in the lineage of Ida Rolf. It was through these complementary practices of wellness that she healed her body - and from there Orthopedic Yoga Therapy was born.

Michelle has spent thousands of happy hours teaching yoga classes and private sessions everywhere from hospitals to schools to Gillette Stadium. She has taught in conjunction with Johns Hopkins Medical School on Yoga for Brain Disorders. She was on staff at Spaulding Rehab Group working with orthopedic patients and has spoken at Grand Rounds hospitals on the "Applications of Yoga in Clinical Settings". For more than 10 years she ran summer camps to bring holistic healing to young women with anxiety and mood disorders. 

Michelle was the owner of Sanctuary Studio in Massachusetts, the founder of Transformational Yoga, Ritual Vinyasa and Orthopedic Therapy. She is a Board Certified Structural Integrator having studied with the acclaimed Tom Myers of "Anatomy Trains" fame, as well as a Thai Massage practitioner, a Neurovascular Bodyworker and the author of the upcoming book "Orthopedic Yoga". 

She has been teaching and studying the science behind yoga for almost 20 years. She now teaches internationally, bringing her unique style of yoga to students of all levels, ages, shapes and sizes. She has taught thousands of yoga students and believes it is a blessing to be able to bring people the gifts of a strong body, a quiet mind and a blissful spirit.
